In memory of our beloved Betty!
What I remember most about Betty is her sweet-sweet spirit and spunk. She was such a lady. She loved stylish clothes and sported a cute figure too. I remember the variety of hats she wore and her friendly smile. Betty was a "lady" in the most flattery way. Betty loved playing the piano and shared her talents with us during many Christmas holiday seasons. She loved the holidays and as recent as this past Christmas celebration I remember how she blushed when the entertainer tastefully flirted with her in the audience. Oh what a great time we had that night. Betty served St. Louis Chapter for many years and was a true ambassador of IAAP. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know Betty. I will truly miss her. St. Louis Chapter's loss is the Omega Chapter's gain. Thanks for the memories Betty!

As Lou said, Betty was a special person who liked everyone and always had a smile.
In addition to providing her photography talents with us for our 70th anniversary, she also gave the toast for our celebration.
Betty was a tiny bundle of energy and was still jogging up until she twisted an ankle last year and then tweaked it again coming home from a Cardinal's baseball game -- avid fan. I don't know if she began jogging when the ankle healed. There were people in downtown St. Louis that set their clocks based on Betty's runs.
When I first met her I was in a different chapter and I remember how much she loved the sun. Her priority in deciding whether or not to attend a division meeting was whether or not the hotel had a pool. She did give up attending the division meetings to find sun in other parts of the world. Yes, she also loved to travel.
I know I will be looking for her at our next meeting and it will take a minute or two to remember that she is now at her own meeting with Kathleen, Rose, Nancy and all the other St. Louis Chapter members who have transferred to the Omega Chapter.
What do you remember most about Betty? Please share.

As a member of St.Louis Chapter my heart aches for we have lost a very vital member of our IAAP family. Betty Vaughn was truly a one of a kind lovely and precious lady. Her vitality and enthusiasm was contagious and her sense of humor and love for life would brighten the room when she was with us. Our December holiday parties had a very extra sparkle when Betty would play the piano as only she could and she was always so excited to see Santa and has even been known to sit on his lap and pose for a very special picture.
Over the years she and I served together on the Special Events Committee many, many times and it was always one of her favorite activities and such a privilege to me to be able to serve with her. She loved parties and this one in particular.
Perhaps one of her best known and most enjoyed talents was photography. She had taken a spectacular picture of the St. Louis Arch and the Old Courthouse and the committee thought it would make a great gift for our executives at our October meeting. When I asked her if we could have her permission to make framed copies of the picture for the executives she was so excited one would have thought she had just won the lottery. Tears came to her eyes and she could hardly speak but finally said she felt so honored that we wanted to use one of her pictures for this very important event. And...in addition all of the attendees at our 70th Anniversary celebration also received a framed copy as a gift. So we all have this lovely picture as a memento to honor our Betty!
We will miss you, Betty! St. Louis Chapter has been truly blessed to have you as one of our own for nearly 42 years and it won't be the same without you!
